I camped in June Lake a few weeks ago. The Eastern Sierras were streaked with snow. Here are photographs from a stranger who went where I went. What's missing is a dark walk along a wooden pathway that juts into an open stretch of land and leads anyone who's willing to a hot spring. The stars were layered forever across the black night. I lifted my arms and legs in the warm water and the salinity held me up like I was sitting in a deck chair :
